I'm so sorry to take so long posting this....BUT...after a year's hiatus the Singles Tournament was back, live and in person!
It was a fantastic day of Dueling, as 32 Jedi and Sith, ranging in ages from the single digits to the mid *COUGH* forties *COUGH* gathered and did battle.
The big story of the day was Obi-Wan Kenobi. He has long been the most popular character for the Singles Tournament, but he has never won the event! But look what happened in the Final Four:
That's right - THREE Obi-Wan Kenobies made it to the Final Four, and narrowly missed taking the Kamino Platform region as well. Speaking of other Final Four first, this was the first time a kid AND a female made it to the Final Four - congrats Jillian!!! It also featured our first Father-Daughter Final Four, with Jillian and Grant winning their respective regions.
Surely, with three Obi-Wans, one would win the tournament...right?
WRONG!!! For the second year in a row, an Emperor beat Obi-Wan to win the tournament!!! Congrats to Grant!!! If you look at his path to victory, it was anything but easy. It felt like he knocked every single Obi-Wan out of the tournament. And congrats to JD, who made his first final match as well. What a crazy day. Check out the brackets below, as well as some other random pictures. We'll do this again next summer. In the meantime...SEASON EIGHT of the 12-Way Duel League kicks off on Monday, August 9th. PEW PEW!!!
