Preview: The Imperial March - March 19, 2022

Well it's been a few weeks since we've last Dueled!  Spring Break will do that to you, but tonight we're back in action on one of the most fun boards in the league - the Naboo Reactor Pit!  This locale was made famous in Episode I, and is exciting for us because the laser walls that divide Duelers will randomly turn on and off each time a 2 or a 5 is rolled.  It adds an added layer of chaos to an already chaotic game!

HISTORY OF THE IMPERIAL MARCH

2021 - Ian won with Yoda on the Conveyex Train
2020 - Ben H. won with Darth Vader on the Kamino Platform
2019 - Rob won with Darth Maul in the Carbon Freezing Chamber
2018 - Rob won with Luke Skywalker in the Carbon Freezing Chamber
2017 - Dalton won with Obi-Wan Kenobi in the Emperor's Throne Room
2016 - Alex R. won with Anakin Skywalker in the Geonosis Arena
2015 - Grant won with Han Solo in the Carbon Freezing Chamber

MEET THE DUELERS

Corona - this marks Corona's fifth Duel, meaning he'll be one away from professional status after this one.  He's also coming off a nice fifth place finish in last month's Valentine's Duel.

Curtis - Curtis has started 2022 quite nicely!  He finished second at the New Year's Duel and fourth in the Valentine's Duel, which was also tied a record finish for Kylo Ren.

Duncan - no undergraduate students have as many games logged as Duncan, and in January he added to his resume with career victory #3.  He's hoping to rebound from a disappointing V-Day Duel.

Evan - Evan was so close to his first career victory last month, bowing out in third place with Moff Gideon at the Valentine's Duel.  But he did turn pro!

Grant D. - it's been a few months since Grant has played with us, and it's good he's returned!  Curtis was about to overtake him for second place in most career games played.

Grant H. - this marks Grant's first Duel since going professional at the 2021 Championship.  There's rumors on the street he's been playing Duels in an underground North Village league...

JD M. - did you know JD was recently appointed to the Galactic Senate as a non-voting member?  After eight years as a league, we've finally infiltrated the halls of leadership...

Kat - nobody is running hotter than Kat right now.  She has four top-five finishes in her last four games played, including her Fight Night victory.

Kevin - this is an exciting game for Kevin - he's turning pro!  While he's at it, he'd love to end his streak of back to back last place finishes.

Miguel - the Valentine's Duel last month will go down in history as the match where Miguel figured out how to go deep into a Duel.  He finished a personal best second place with Darth Maul.

Rico - you never would have known last month's Duel was Rico's first after his smooth display of Dueling acumen.  He's got the bug and is ready for game #2!

Rob - the Rob rollercoaster continues - in his last three games he's finished first, eleventh, and first.  He was pumped to win with Rey last month on the Rathtar board.

MONOPOLY PREDICTS THE WINNER

I can't believe we're even getting a pick this month, considering a Rathar burst out of his box last month.  Ok Monopoly, against our better judgement...who do you have winning The Imperial March?

Oh golly-gee-willikers!  I have to pick Boba after
seeing him ride a RANCOR into battle!

Well...that actually seems like a reasonable pick, Monopoly.  Maybe that Rathtar eating your innards has made you smarter?

There's only one way to find out!  Tonight at 7 in the North Village classroom we play THE IMPERIAL MARCH!  Feel free to come on by if you're so inclined!
